|
|
I'm trying to install Cubase SX 3.1 It complains during the initial installation that "File SYNSOACC.DLL could not be located in the Windows system Folders". I tried rebooting. The USB key is not in.
I was a happy customer for the first 30 seconds. Now I'm frustrated.
I own VST 5 and have Cubase LE loaded. I bought the boxed version of Cubase SX. Tell me this is not the kind of experience SX will be forever (and how to fix this problem).
Ken
P.S. (Please fix the stupid search engine that can't allow me to go back to the search results, so I can contiunue checking for a fix without frustration). _________________ Ken Kelly |

|

I went to device manager, made sure no key was installed, downloaded the latest key program from the web. Now I get a SYNOPOS error stating that it is not a Win32 application? How painful. I am wasting all my time trying to install this, instead of having fun using it!
Please help,

I debugged the problem: I found the files in a "sysWOW64" directory. Based on the "64" in the filename I would guess that directory was left over from last year when I tested Win XP64bit briefly then reloaded regular Windows XP.
The USB key folks need to find a different way to determine 64bit-ness vs the regular Windows XP I am running. I have no idea what else Microsoft leaves around.
OK, I like Steinberg again but am not happy with the 64bit detection problem of the USB key folks...

SOLUTION: I renamed the sysWOW64 directory and reinstalled. Everything went fine.
