On August 22nd 2005, Wizoo GmbH announced its acquisition by Digidesign, a division of Avid Technology, Inc. Several Steinberg VST instrument products include technology provided by Wizoo, including Virtual Guitarist, Virtual Guitarist Electric Edition, Hypersonic and Xphraze. We can assure customers who have purchased these products that the acquisition has no adverse effect on their software. Steinberg will, of course, continue to support these products fully. Plans for future product co-development between Steinberg and Wizoo of follow-up products and maintenance of current products are also unaffected.

Thanks,
Your Steinberg Team

Does this mean that WizooVerb will get the High Sample rate bug fixed?
I never get any replies to the support emails from Wizoo any more since the "Great Enemy" bought them out.
Right now, W2 and W5 are completely unusable in Nuendo because of this bug.

I have no idea because the WizooVerb was a Wizoo only product. Sorry!

Will there ever be a Hypersonic 3? Does Wizoo own the source codes?

I have just heard from M-Audio support that - and I quote
Quote:
Wizoo no longer exists, and no updates are planned for any of their products

So where does that response leave us?
High & Dry is my guess.
Shafted - yet again - by DodgyDesign, who seem to be scared of anything remotely resembling competition.
They must be so insecure over there.....

Well, that's their point of view. We hope to have a more positive statement for you soon.

Glad to hear it!!
I was - to put it mildly - not impressed by the email!

Unless Steinberg own the source code, or can license the source code, forget it.
So let us all fervently hope that they can achieve something here.

Digidesign have screwed us over - again.

Xphraze is a different story, because it was/is programmed by ReFX (Michael Kleps).

Any info about the Wizoo issue? Hypersonic is such a nice product, and I have "almost" bought it many times already... Doubts about the future hold me back. I'm trying to find a good solid "common sound set" for me and a bunch of friends. I've considered all kinds of things: Hypersonic, Steinberg Virtual Instrument Collection, C4's new HALionOne, HAlion Player, SampleTank, PlugSound, ... Many of these involve parts developed and/or owned by Wizoo...

Steinberg/Yamaha, please do whatever it takes to make it possible to continue development and bug-fixes to the products labelled with the name "Steinberg". Buy the copyrighted materials from Wizoo or something.

Any info about the future of HS?
I'm still on HS1 and I don't think that I'll upgrade to HS2 before I know more about the future of HS. For so long, I'll be expanding my ST2 library to ST2.1 instead...
We really need to know more about it's future. I hope that we'll have some sample import, like AKAI, in the future.

So, going back to 2004, and the promise that was made by Steinberg to fully support thier products! Have they forgotten about VG & VG EE?
These are not compatible with the new intel Macs. For Steinberg its just a patch, For me its a new piece of software. Something to consider when i make my next purchase

The decision to release updates for old products would actually force us to go back in our product catalogue to the very beginning of Steinberg Wink At what point should we stop? As a customer I wouldn't really expect any company to release updates for a new platform when there is already a newer version of that product that will hopefully be UB compatible soon...
