Dear HALion and HALion based product friends!
Steinberg has today issued re-released hotfix updates for HALion Symphonic Orchestra 1.3 and HALion String Edition 2.3 as well as both the HALion Player 3.3 retail and HALion Player 3.3 OEM versions. Additionally a hotfix update of the The Grand 2.3 is also available now.
The new version updates functions within the underlying HALion 3 sampler engine shared by all these products. These include enhancements when recalling tempo settings in standalone mode, with zone display in the Key Zone Editor as well as program change functionality. The re-released updates are also fixing a problem with content location for all HALion Player-based products.
A ‘What’s New’ document accompanying the update installers lists all changes for this hotfix update.
For HALion 3 no re-release was neccessary and the version remains like it was released some days ago.

i'm a bit confused about which version i have installed ... when i look in the ?About' box in H3 (by clicking on the Halion logo' i have version 3.2.1.338 (the Halion.vst plugin also displays this number in the finder)...
however, when i try to install either one of the 3.3 updates (Update_HALion_3.3.0.450_OSX.zip or Update_HALion_3.3.1.456.dmg) i get an error from the installer telling me that i have a newer version than the updates installed.
thx for any help with this _________________ Some of my tracks on Souncloud

I have the same problem on my Macs.
Very bizarre and I can't find any solution so far.
Have tried upgrading from 3.2 in various ways but by installing either of the 3.3 files, I end up with a 3.0 version!
Like child_stratosphere, I get a warning that each updater is an "older" version of the existing files - contrary to the creation dates of the upgrade files.
When I continue with the installation, the end result is always a reversion to 3.0, the original Halion 3.
OS is Mac10.4.
Have tried upgrading to Hal 3.3 several times on both my Mac Dual 1.25 G4 and Intel Macbook Pro.
Have tried full reintall from Halion 3 disk, then upgrading directly to 3.3.
Have trashed preferences, repaired permissions. Have followed the ugrade advice on Steinberg's upgrade page.
No luck.
Syncrosoft up to date.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
