Hello,

You could use the "Locate Content" function of HalionOne. Also do not forget that you have now more scanning options in the Mediabay

Gr,

A question here; until now I was using the content on another drive. So for now, using "Locate Content" function seems not to update the registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Steinberg\HALionOne\Content_Directory
..., and which was the case using earlier updates.
Anything that I should do?

Thanks,
RW

EDIT: Ok, forget about the question; the registry seems to store the installation path, but doesn't mirror the path in use if a new one.
The "Content Archives.xml" file seems to store the 2 latest paths selected by the user, and the path is also found from the "archives.xml"
Anyway, HalionOne seems fine here...

You can install the actual content anywhere but you'll find shortcuts are installed here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Steinberg\Content\HALionOne SoundBanks

You have an option during the install as to where you want to copy the content. I have the content installed on my sample drive in a folder I named 'HALionOne', the same place as I had it when I first installed C4 almost a year ago.

No problem here.

Cheers,

Mauri.

Have you tried to repair the "Steinberg HalionOne" from the XP's Add/remove app. panel?
All of the sets are also listed and had the way to repair it seems.

I 4.1 updated directly over a clean C4.0 install. And HalionOne had some trouble finding some of the Hal1 soundfiles on the harddisk Confused
I manually copied the files the installer was asking for, from the DVD to the install temp directory. Then everything worked.

But there is some small bugs or adjustments needed for the 4.1 installer.

You know where you have the *.hsb files from the install? These are the actuall data files needed to make the HalionONE noises. If you don't remember, do a search on all your drives for "*.hsb" and then memorize the path to where you find them.
Then open HalionONE and right-click anyware on the GUI except the buttons. Now you get a little pop up named "Find contents" where you can browse for the folder on some place on your drives. TADA Dancing

I've done the same except I just installed C4 for the first time today. I directed the content files to the same location on another drive as I did the 4.0 installation.

Did you have 4.0 content on another drive or installed at the default location? If not, you could try copying the content to the folder where you first installed the content so see if it picks it up. I noticed the original content files disappeared as I monitored the directory of the initial installation and then the new files popped in.

Wish I could help more.. Confused

Temp folder where the installer is looking for .Hsb files is here (important to say, that this only matter when you install the 4.1 update!!!):

My folder (install temp directory):
C:\Documents and Settings\SLL\Local Settings\Temp\(can remember the last folder name, but the name says it all) Smile

Just find the Halion .hsb files on the DVD (search for Halion*.*) And copy the files the installer is asking for manually to the harddisk temp folder!
