Hi,

I have a Plextor Premium CD burner for burning masters. Its in a caddy connected via firewire. Been working fine in all versions of Wavelab. Installed 7 and nothing appears. Can't import or burn any CD. Says there is no device. Windows, Wavelab 6 and every other piece of software can see it fine. Any ideas?

Cheers
Steve

Plextor PlexWriter Premium. It is a pretty popular drive used by mastering engineers to create CD masters. It works fine in WL6 and all other apps.

I have same problem. My SATA Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Recorder is not recognized by Wavelab 7, but working OK with Wavelab 6. This is LG BD-RE GGW-H20L. I try to install Gear driver - still not recognized. I try setting drive in BIOS as ahci, and as ide - same situation. My other DVD recorder (LG too) working OK. As I say in Wavelab 6 both was OK.

I have this issue too.

I have a Pioneer BDR-205, works great in WL6 - but WL7 just wont see it. I am going to need to swap it out with my old Pioneer and see if that works. Would be much appreciated if any tricks to get the SW seeing the drive. All other apps I have can see it.....

Cheers

Sam

This is getting worrying.

I thought these problems would be long gone in W7

Can we have a list of working recorders?

regards

I can add one to the list of non-working recorders :
LG BE06LU10 external Bluray/DVD/CD burner.
Works with everything except Wavelab 6 & 7.
Win 7 64 and Vista 32
(Full report here .. http://www.cubase.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=140228 .. PG is looking into it)

Same here with both my drives!! LG HL-DT-ST_BD-RE__BH08LS20 (2.00) and TSSTcorp_CDDVDW_SH-S223C (SB05)
Both drives work perfect with any other burning software on win 7 (64 bit) but none of them show up in wavelab 7. (they worked in WL6)

Blue-ray drives are currently not recognized. Will be fixed in 7.01.

These issues still not fixed in WL7?

That's why I'm not upgrading from WL4 - 2 DAWS, 2 different drives, both recognised for playing audio, but not for burning.

For this reason I now use other software for editing and CD burning.

Wow....suddenly I need to add to this too now.

Today - after a bunch of studio rewiring and renovating over the weekend - I needed to do some quick calibration and thought I would test WL7 and use it to pull several test tones from one of my standard calibration discs...imagine my surprise (or not) when my long standing stalwart drives (Pioneer DVR-112D and an original Plextor Premium CD-R) both are not available in WL7.

Running Windows 7 64 bit. These optical appear fine in all other programs installed.

Whatta sad joke this has become for a "mastering" program....any ideas (since I do not have a manual) on what to look for?

PG,

So what's the deal? Does this "driver" setup not come with WL7?

FYI: This works great...drives now enabled.

The WaveLab installer installs the drivers. For some reason, this might have silently failed on your system. Happy to see this now works for you.

I've just got WL Elements 7, and just been playing about with it.

My CD/DVD recorder isn't recognised by it either (it works in other apps).

Did the 7.01 update solve this issue for some of you?
In my case it DID NOT.
I'm still unable to read or burn cd's (no (dvd/blueray) drives recognized)
Great! (that is: very annoying) for a cd mastering application...
Sad

Even with this?

With 7.01, you would be the first case.

Here one can verify if a driver is properly installed:

To add to this - if it helps - My USB LG Blu-Ray drive is recognised by WL since the update .. but still doesn't work for burning CD's.

I can export from WL as a DDP - and burn a CD on the same (LG) drive if I use this program http://www.sonoris.nl/catalog/ddp-player-p-48.html and it burns just fine.

I can burn the CD direct from WL to another (internal) DVD drive .. and that works OK too (so the drivers must be installed OK).
